Kennel Charity Dog PDD Barbara Vanner

Thursday April 11th, we lost a friend and valued member of the MODD, Kennel Charity Dog PDD Barbara Vanner. For a number of years Barbara had suffered from a terminal, painful lung disease. However, in testament to her strength, character and passion she did not let it slow her down much. Several of her passions were the MODD in general, being a mentor to advancing Dogs as a Dog Handler every August and in her dedication to sick children via the MODD Children’s Hospital Fund (CHF). Barbara never hesitated to dig deep into her own pocket for the children, as many of us witnessed several years ago when she and PDD Stielper engaged in an epic bidding war over a Semper BAD tumbler with a winning bid of $2,300 Big Bones going to the CHF. Due to the countless hours she dedicated to her many other fundraising efforts for the CHF, such as spending days at the huge, annual Carlisle Spring and Fall Auto Shows collecting thousands in donations for MODD Yellow Roses, then 59th CDD Tom Hazlett appointed PDD Vanner to the position of Kennel Charity Dog, which she excelled at and held until succumbing to her illness last week. Please keep her family in your prayers!

Barbara Vanner’s obituary and details on services being held next week may be found at: https://www.hoffmanfh.com/.

If making a memorial donation as suggested in the obituary, all checks should be made out to MODD and you may designate Children’s Hospital Fund or CHF on the memo line if that is how you want your donation allocated. Then mail it per the obituary. Alternatively, memorial contributions may be made by using the Donate button on the Kennel Home page at  https://militaryorderofthedevildogs.org/donate and you may allocate your donation to Children’s Hospital or MODD in the first box on the donation page.
